Chelsea U21 & England U20 international Harrison McMahon and his family have been working with ProMindset for the past three years. Find out more about Harrison’s journey and how ProMindset has supported his development on and off the pitch.
Hear from Steve, Harrison’s dad, as he explains their journey with ProMindset.
"We first came across ProMindset after reading Ahead of the Game, which led us to reach out to James directly.
At the time, Harrison had just moved from West Ham to Chelsea Academy, and we were looking for someone who truly understood the mental side of the game.
We always felt that while technical and physical development were prioritised, mindset was often overlooked. We wanted support in that area from someone who had lived it and could guide him properly.
From the start, Harrison built a strong relationship with James. He felt comfortable, trusted him, and really bought into the process.
Through the mentorship, they worked on mindset development alongside game analysis. This not only improved his understanding of the game, but also helped him grow in confidence, resilience, self-belief and leadership.
Over time, that development showed.
Harrison went on to become Chelsea U18 FA Youth Cup captain and earned a professional contract.
For us, the biggest thing is that this support didn’t just help him as a player, but as a person."
"After being released, Reuben struggled with confidence, body language and frustration affecting his performances. Since working with James at ProMindset, he’s rebuilt his confidence, settled into a new environment, earned a scholarship, and completely changed the way he thinks and performs on and off the pitch"
